From the moment I walked into the office of the Johnston-Merle Hay StorageMart, I knew I was in good hands. Nicole is an excellent manager, and helped me get exactly the right storage for my needs. She helped me set up automatic payments, so I don't have to worry about that. Every time I access my storage unit, the building is clean, as are the property grounds. I know there are StorageMarts all over town, but if you live in the Johnston area (and even if you don't!), I highly recommend this store!

What a treat the whole experience was! The facility was top notch, clean as a whistle with security second to none. The staff was knowledgeable, efficient and very pleasant. I would recommend Storage Mart to anyone.

Super nice staff and clean convinient location. 24hr access and great security is a plus. I love the special rate I got and the military discount is super appreciated. I was even offered cold water while I moved in! Definitely highly recommended

I had my trailer stored there for the last six months, decided to sell it for lack of use. Nicole hooked me up with a storage unit to put the few things I still needed to store with no hassles, real quick. I was done in minutes and on my way. StorageMart For The Win.

Staff goes out of their way to help you, which is the kind of customer service you don't find often. The units are very clean and don't have bad odors, which was important to me. I've recently moved to West Des Moines but I'm keeping my things at StorageMart in Johnston. They're great!

I could not believe how clean and tight your facility was it was very upset and I actually have more than one storage unit due to the fact Nicole was so nice. My mother referred me because of Nicole you guys have one hell of a general manager here good job..

This my first experience with a storage unit. Being new to this area I'm so glad this is the place I was directed to StorageMart on Merle Hay Rd .The manager N.A. made me feel like family, very easy to talk to. I wouldn't trade this place or my experience here with anything. Much Love and respect for the staff .

We needed several storage units to accommodate our household items during a recent move. Based on the reviews and location, we selected the Johnston Storage Mart. We were not disappointed. The units are clean and well maintained and the staff were all wonderful to work with. We were very satisfied with our experience with this company and the staff at this location.

I have 2 units here. When I rented the second unit there were a few clerical changes i needed to make and the company was using a new computer system and there were some computer issues, but Carmen went above and beyond to ensure that StorageMart met all of my expectations. I would recommend this facility to anyone. Thank you Carmen.

EXCELLENT on EVERY LEVEL - I have now rented 3 units/spaces for personal and business use and the staff/facility reassert that consumer satisfaction is not only important, but a priority. Prior to working with StorageMart this year I had been a skeptic about storage facilities, but that has been wiped clear.

This facility is very clean and very well managed. The manager Carmen was great to work with and was very meticulous about keeping the facility secure. I had 3 climate controlled units and they worked very well for my moving transition. It has great access right off of interstate 80 and Merle Hay road. in fact, right by a Quick Trip. I highly recommend.

We rented our unit on line. I received a message from the manager at the Johnston location asking me to call and finish the paperwork for an easier move in. I called 7 times during the work hours given by Nicole and never once connected with her. We both left messages for each other. The morning we were to move in I received a message from Nicole asking our move in time. I was unable to get to speak with her on the phone. When we went to the office to move in it was closed. It was 2:30 in the afternoon. I understand that emergencies happen but a phone call would have been appreciated. We had a truck full of stuff to move and help but were unable to get in the unit. They did later send over an employee from a different location who called and helped us finish up our paperwork so we could move our stuff in. When I signed up on line there was no mention of mandatory liability insurance.If I had been given that information I would of had my personal insurance info ready. We have since been able to take care of it. I also opted to have my monthly payment made automatically by checking the box when I signed up for my unit. When I go to the sit I found out I was not set up for auto payment. Not sure what's up with the online site but it needs some work!! The unit was clean and I felt safe at the site and the price was very competitive with others in the area. We are hoping for a better experience going forward.

My husband and I bought a lock for our storage unit and the key broke off inside the lock the first time we tried to use it so we brought it to the office to exchange it. The manager, Nicole, refused to exchange it and told us to call the manufacturer of the lock. She didn't give us the number to the company so I had to look it up. Once on the phone with the manufacturer, they said she was incorrect in not giving a replacement lock so I put the manufacturer on the speaker to talk to Nicole. He told her to go ahead and give us a new lock and he would replace the lock to Storage Mart on their next shipment. She STILL refused and said she would have to ask the general manager. We asked for the GM's phone number and she wouldn't give it out. She wanted us to buy a new lock since we couldn't leave our unit unlocked. My husband asked if we could return the lock when the replacement came from the manufacturer and she said no. Nicole has zero customer service skills and is not friendly in the slightest definition. Never a smile or desire to help solve a problem, I can't believe she is employed as at a front desk of any business. We finally called Storage Mart's corporate office who sent a message to the GM who approved giving us a new lock. All this over a $12.75 lock. She could've replaced it easily and saved the company a bad review.

DO NOT RENT FROM STORAGE MART! I moved my business to this location to park 6 of my fleet and rented a unit in Fall of 2015. I noticed two huge sections of fence that were broke down and two pole security lights not functioning close to were my fleet was parked. I was told at the time of move in that there was already work orders in to have it all fixed and it wasn't fixed until Sunday March 13th. These repairs only happened this date because 4 of my fleet and 2 personal vehicles were broken in to and striped of all their stereo equipment and the personal vehicles were ransacked after their window was smashed in Fri March 11th. The thieves came back Saturday night also and attempted to retrieve a couple pieces of equipment left behind in one vehicle. The Johnston police concluded the point of entry from the downed fence after they received info from storage mart on records of gate entry these evenings. Exact words from the Storage Mart claim rep Rebecca is that "their sight is not secure" so if you're looking for a secure storage facility DO NOT RENT FROM STORAGE MART.

This organization has the business practices and ethics of carp. Open your wallet and pull down your pants. StorageMart is about to make you wish you just lit your things on fire instead of storing them.

Nicole has horrible customer service. She is away from the office way too long and I tried to nake a payment 4 times and she was never in the office. I was late wnd got charged a late fee. It wasn't my fault. The staff doesn't take into account that it's not always the customer's fault. Someone needs to talk to her and teach her how to do the job. Also, my girlfriend had a unit on Douglas Avenue and complained about spiders being in the unit and she was told that they have nothing to do with that. She would have to take care of it. She decided to switch storage units with a different company. Another issue that needs to be mentioned is the difficulty of reaching someone over the phone. Whenever I call I cannot get someone on the line. It's always saying to leave a message. I was told I can make a payment over the phone but to me that seems to be a lie. Please fix this issue.
